I know people think of us as the ‘ great white North’, but I think flat canola fields farther than the eye can see are Canadian af

Only in the prairies, though! Didn’t see any of it back in Ontario.

It’s very common in parts of the UK, although I remember a different name for it.

It’s a little past here. The canola fields aren’t the bright yellow they were a few weeks ago. Pretty while it lasts.

The fields from Stoon to home were pretty much yellow the whole way.

There’s a bit of canola grown up between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie. Not much, but there is a little.

I feel like a lot of Canada could pass for England, all we’re missing is the tight roads with low stone walls

The most amusing thing about this is that we are in winter whilst you are in summer and our canola fields to the east of here are only six weeks away from looking like this...

I’m surprised you say that. I know it’s not one of the most common crops in Ontario but there’s plenty of fields planted with Canola on them here. One of ours has canola on it right now, last year there were two, most years prior there were some as well.

True. There’s not many cropped fields up there but I did see some Canola when I drove to the Sault two weeks ago.

Just saying what I saw. Didn't get around much outside of Ottawa and Toronto once I was out of high school.

Fair enough. I do live in the middle of farm country so I can’t help but see it. I would say that over the last 5-10 years we have seen Canola used more frequently than before. When we first moved here we’d rarely see Canola and I don’t think I had ever seen it in Holland.
